H.R. No. 56
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         
  WHEREAS, July 29, 2010, marked the 77th wedding anniversary
 
  of Howard and Mary Conoway, providing a fitting opportunity to
 
  reflect on their memorable journey together as husband and wife;
 
  and
         
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Conoway were high school sweethearts in
 
  Norwood, Ohio, and they eloped to Newport, Kentucky, where they
 
  were married in 1933; through the years, they have been blessed with
 
  a treasured family that includes two children, seven grandchildren,
 
  and nine great-grandchildren; and
         
         WHEREAS, The couple moved to Houston in 1935, where
 
  Mr. Conoway was employed by the Continental Can Company; after 32
 
  years in Houston and 12 in Virginia, the couple returned to Texas to
 
  retire; residents of The Wilderness community, they enjoy traveling
 
  on cruises and playing games, and they are active in their church;
 
  and
         
         WHEREAS, The 77 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Conoway
 
  have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and
 
  commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who
 
  know them; now, therefore, be it
         
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 
  Legislature hereby congratulate Howard and Mary Conoway on their
 
  77th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
 
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Conoway as an expression of high regard by
 
  the Texas House of Representatives.
