R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, July 29, 2010, marked the 77th wedding anniversary |
|
|
of Howard and Mary Conoway, providing a fitting opportunity to |
|
|
reflect on their memorable journey together as husband and wife; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Conoway were high school sweethearts in |
|
|
Norwood, Ohio, and they eloped to Newport, Kentucky, where they |
|
|
were married in 1933; through the years, they have been blessed with |
|
|
a treasured family that includes two children, seven grandchildren, |
|
|
and nine great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The couple moved to Houston in 1935, where |
|
|
Mr. Conoway was employed by the Continental Can Company; after 32 |
|
|
years in Houston and 12 in Virginia, the couple returned to Texas to |
|
|
retire; residents of The Wilderness community, they enjoy traveling |
|
|
on cruises and playing games, and they are active in their church; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 77 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Conoway |
|
|
have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Howard and Mary Conoway on their |
|
|
77th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Conoway as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
