R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Kenneth
  W. Arthur of Concan, who passed away on August 29, 2010, at the age
  of 64; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Uvalde on September 1, 1945, to Pierce and
  Velma Arthur, Kenneth Wayne Arthur earned a degree in agriculture
  from Southwest Texas State University; beginning with just a dump
  truck, backhoe, and small office, he built a subdivision in the Hill
  Country hamlet of Concan, and his other successful development
  ventures include The Club at ConCan golf course and the House
  Pasture Cattle Company Restaurant and Texas Music Venue at the Frio
  Country Resort; and
         WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Arthur enjoyed the love
  and support of his childhood sweetheart, business partner, and wife
  of 43 years, Barbara, with whom he delighted in outdoor activities
  such as hunting and fishing; he is remembered for his devotion to
  his family and for his generosity to employees, clients, and his
  fellow Texans; and
         WHEREAS, Kenneth Arthur was a man of vision who endeared
  himself to all he met with his positive outlook and steadfast
  loyalty, and his legacy will long resonate in Uvalde County and
  beyond; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kenneth W. Arthur and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Barbara Arthur; to his son, Clint Arthur, and his wife, Korye; to
  his daughters, Casey Whatley and her husband, Bryan, and Candace
  Ray and her husband, Harper; to his brother, Pierce Arthur, Jr.; to
  his sisters, Shirley White and Barbara Lowrance; to his 12
  grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kenneth
  Arthur.
