R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Ed and Nancy Billingsley of Lamesa |
|
|
reached a meaningful milestone in their relationship when they |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ed Billingsley and the former Nancy Goolsby were |
|
|
united in matrimony on January 1, 1961; through the years, they have |
|
|
nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|
|
the addition of their children, Jannelle Long and her husband, |
|
|
David, and Leigh Ann Fry and her husband, Randy, and four cherished |
|
|
grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Billingsley celebrated this momentous |
|
|
anniversary with an Alaskan cruise in 2010, which was a |
|
|
well-deserved vacation after their recent retirement from their |
|
|
farming and ranching endeavors; in addition to sharing an interest |
|
|
in travel, they enjoy spending time with their family and |
|
|
collecting antiques and have been longtime members of the Lamesa |
|
|
Church of Christ; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
|
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ed and Nancy Billingsley on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Billingsley as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
