R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Billy and Sarah Edwards |
|
|
of O'Donnell celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on |
|
|
December 25, 2010; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Billy Edwards and the former Sarah Prather were |
|
|
joined in matrimony in 1960, and through the years they have been |
|
|
blessed with a treasured family that includes their children, |
|
|
Shannon Edwards and his wife, Trish, and Jay Edwards, as well as six |
|
|
grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. |
|
|
Edwards are both retired from the O'Donnell Independent School |
|
|
District, where Mrs. Edwards taught English and journalism and |
|
|
sponsored many University Interscholastic League teams over the |
|
|
years; Mr. Edwards was the district's director of maintenance; the |
|
|
couple also owned and operated a grocery store; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Edwards have enjoyed five decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Billy and Sarah Edwards on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Edwards as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
