R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  dedicated service remain to comfort the family and friends of
  Richard Reese Wenneker of Grapevine, who passed away on August 25,
  2010, at the age of 54; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on August 2, 1956, Rich
  Wenneker joined the Cub Scouts at the age of eight, beginning a
  lifetime affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America; he was an Eagle
  Scout and attained the rare Vigil level in scouting's elite Order of
  the Arrow; as an adult, he volunteered countless hours as an
  assistant scoutmaster, sharing his knowledge, skill, humor, and
  compassion with the boys of Troop 28 in Colleyville; and
         WHEREAS, In 1984, he married Sonja Leanne Kerby, and their
  family grew to include sons Adam, Corey, and Jacob; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Wenneker attended and was employed by Oklahoma
  State University, then worked as a mainframe software systems
  engineer for BNSF Railway Company and IBM; and
         WHEREAS, An active member of the First United Methodist
  Church of Grapevine, Rich Wenneker lived a caring and purposeful
  life; he enjoyed spending time outdoors, following Texas high
  school football, and working with communication technology, and he
  will forever be remembered with great affection by all those who
  were privileged to share in his love and friendship; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Richard Reese
  Wenneker and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Sonja Kerby Wenneker; to his sons, Adam
  Wenneker, Corey Wenneker, and Jacob Wenneker; to his mother,
  Shirley Wenneker; to his brother, Phil Wenneker; to his sister,
  Lori Thompson; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rich
  Wenneker.
