R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, January 27, 2011, marks the 50th wedding anniversary |
|
|
of Tony and Linda Gavin of Caddo Mills, and this joyous event |
|
|
provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable |
|
|
journey together as husband and wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, High school and college sweethearts who both |
|
|
graduated from Caddo Mills Independent School District and East |
|
|
Texas State University, Mr. and Mrs. Gavin were joined in matrimony |
|
|
in 1961 at a ceremony officiated by Pastor Charles Peters in Caddo |
|
|
Mills; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured |
|
|
family that includes their children, Stacy Plasek and Steve Gavin |
|
|
and his wife, Barbara, and one grandchild; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Gavin is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was |
|
|
employed by Raytheon Systems; Mrs. Gavin is retired from public |
|
|
education; in addition to meeting their career and family |
|
|
responsibilities, they have dedicated much of their time to |
|
|
community service, including work on the cemetery board; they enjoy |
|
|
traveling cross-country in their RV, and Mr. Gavin plays golf three |
|
|
times a week; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 50 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Gavin have |
|
|
shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Tony and Linda Gavin on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Gavin as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
