H.R. No. 169
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         
  WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
 
  of Donald Keith Dubbs of Mineola, who died on December 24, 2010, at
 
  the age of 81; and
         
         WHEREAS, Keith Dubbs was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma, on
 
  November 3, 1929, to Strow and Clesta Gladys Mitchell Dubbs; he was
 
  the fourth of eight children; and
         
         WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty during World War
 
  II, Mr. Dubbs joined the U.S. Army and served with the Classified
 
  Correspondence Section, Supreme Headquarters, Far East Command; he
 
  continued to serve in the same capacity during the Korean War, and
 
  in 1950 he was posted to Kobe, Japan; and
         
         WHEREAS, Returning to civilian life, Mr. Dubbs joined with
 
  several partners in 1954 to start a business that distributed
 
  records and operated retail stores in Texas and Oklahoma; and
         
         WHEREAS, Mr. Dubbs was joined in matrimony to Betty Pool
 
  Dubbs in San Antonio in 1970; they shared a fulfilling relationship
 
  until his death, and he became a loving adoptive father to her three
 
  children, Jeff, Robert, and Rhonda; and
         
         WHEREAS, In 1984, Mr. Dubbs and his family moved to Mineola,
 
  where he earned a broker's license and started a realty company; he
 
  remained active in the business until the last few weeks of his
 
  life; and
         
         WHEREAS, Mr. Dubbs was a member of the Greater Tyler
 
  Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors, and the
 
  National Association of Realtors; a man of strong religious faith,
 
  he attended First United Methodist Church in Mineola, and he
 
  continued to honor his military service as a member of the American
 
  Legion; he was a member as well of the National Rifle Association;
 
  and
         
         WHEREAS, Keith Dubbs lived a rich and purposeful life devoted
 
  to his family, his faith, and his nation, and he will be forever
 
  remembered with respect and affection by all those who held him
 
  close to their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Donald Keith Dubbs and
 
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife
 
  of 40 years, Betty Pool Dubbs; to his sons, Jeff Dubbs and his wife,
 
  Wanda, and Robert Dubbs and his wife, Dorsey; to his daughter,
 
  Rhonda Brown and her husband, Curtis; to his sisters, Dorothy
 
  Townsend, Nancy Greeley, and Beverly Lee; to his brother, Strow
 
  Dubbs; to his 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and to
 
  his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Donald
 
  Keith Dubbs.
