R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Carolyn Turner served Dawson County for more than
  three decades, and the conclusion of her notable career with the
  county provides a fitting opportunity to honor her; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Turner joined the Dawson County district
  attorney's office in 1977; she transferred to the office of the
  district clerk in 1989, and in 1993, she was appointed district
  clerk; and
         WHEREAS, Since that time, she was elected to the office of
  district clerk four times; during her tenure, she was responsible
  for recording the acts and proceedings of the district court,
  maintaining its records and finances, and administering child
  support payments; she initiated the office's move to a more
  spacious location on the fourth floor of the Dawson County
  courthouse, and she has skillfully overseen the court's criminal
  case records, often under difficult circumstances; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Turner's dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the citizens of
  Dawson County, and she may indeed reflect with pride on all that she
  achieved in behalf of the county; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Carolyn Turner for her 33 years of
  service to the people of Dawson County and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Turner as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
