R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
  memories of Otto William Bielss, Jr., of Irving, who passed away on
  December 25, 2010, at the age of 77; and
         WHEREAS, Born on November 12, 1933, Otto Bielss, Jr., served
  his country during the Korean War; he earned a bachelor's degree in
  mathematics from Hardin-Simmons University, where he was a member
  of the "World Famous" Cowboy Band, and a master's degree in
  education from the University of North Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Bielss and his wife, Patsy Lee, enjoyed a
  rewarding marriage that spanned 48 years, until her passing in
  2007; he was blessed with two sons, Otto and Paul, as well as four
  grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A dedicated educator, Mr. Bielss taught classes for
  the Dallas County Community College District and Paul Quinn
  College; from 1988 to 1990 he promoted mathematics education
  throughout the state as president of the Texas Council of Teachers
  of Mathematics; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to playing baseball and softball, Mr.
  Bielss coached and officiated a variety of sports, and he was an
  avid reader and traveler; this esteemed Texan was also a Master
  Mason and a member of Shriners International, and he served as a
  youth director for several churches; and
         WHEREAS, Otto Bielss, Jr., brightened the lives of all those
  who were fortunate enough to know him, and he will be fondly
  remembered and deeply missed; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Otto William
  Bielss, Jr., and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
  family: to his sons, Otto Bielss III and his wife, Jennifer, and
  Paul Bielss and his wife, Rebecca; to his grandchildren, Otto
  Bielss IV, Patrick Bielss, Pamela Bielss, and Heather Lane and her
  husband, Scott; to his great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Corbin, and
  Isabella Lane; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Otto
  William Bielss, Jr.
