R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Jim and Maxine Howell of Temple |
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 6, 2011; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jim Howell and the former Maxine Tims were united in |
|
matrimony in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1961; through the years, they |
|
have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer |
|
with the addition of their children, Jim and his wife, Melinda, |
|
Keith and his wife, Toni, and Cheri, and two grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Howell led his own |
|
band and also performed with Jerry Haisler and the Melody 5 for |
|
several years; he is retired from Texas Instruments; Mrs. Howell is |
|
a homemaker and the owner of a handmade crafts business; she |
|
formerly co-owned Family Video; residents of Temple since 1978, |
|
they are valued congregants of Memorial Baptist Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife |
|
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jim and Maxine Howell on their |
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Howell as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
