R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Aggregates and Concrete |
|
Association are gathering in Austin for their legislative day at |
|
the State Capitol on February 9, 2011; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Aggregates and Concrete Association was |
|
created in 1974 when the Texas Ready Mixed Concrete Association and |
|
the Texas Aggregates Association were united; and |
|
WHEREAS, In the years since, TACA has grown to more than 200 |
|
member companies throughout Texas, including 75 percent of the |
|
state's concrete business owners, 100 percent of the cement |
|
companies, and 80 percent of the aggregates firms; and |
|
WHEREAS, Aggregates, concrete, cement, and related |
|
industries generate billions of dollars in business and employ |
|
thousands of Texans; as part of its mission, TACA advocates for |
|
sustainable funding levels for state infrastructure sectors that |
|
impact its members, thereby helping to promote economic development |
|
and job creation in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby welcome the Texas Aggregates and Concrete |
|
Association to the State Capitol and extend to the visiting |
|
delegation sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable day |
|
in Austin; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
