R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members and alumni of Leadership Boerne contribute |
|
|
immeasurably to South Central Texas as civic leaders and |
|
|
volunteers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established by the Boerne Chamber of Commerce in |
|
|
1998, this exceptional nine-month program provides opportunities |
|
|
for participants to increase their knowledge of public issues and |
|
|
infrastructure and to visit with the leaders who are making |
|
|
decisions that affect their community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a |
|
|
diverse membership with personal leadership training, networking |
|
|
opportunities, and instruction from knowledgeable figures |
|
|
representing both the public and private sectors; topics covered |
|
|
include state, city, and county government, economic development |
|
|
and tourism, education, and health care; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through its efforts to build a more informed and |
|
|
involved citizenry and to develop new leaders, Leadership Boerne is |
|
|
helping to create a brighter and more promising future for the Lone |
|
|
Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Leadership Boerne for its promotion of |
|
|
civic leadership and volunteerism and extend to its participants |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
