R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members and alumni of Leadership Boerne contribute
  immeasurably to South Central Texas as civic leaders and
  volunteers; and
         WHEREAS, Established by the Boerne Chamber of Commerce in
  1998, this exceptional nine-month program provides opportunities
  for participants to increase their knowledge of public issues and
  infrastructure and to visit with the leaders who are making
  decisions that affect their community; and
         WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a
  diverse membership with personal leadership training, networking
  opportunities, and instruction from knowledgeable figures
  representing both the public and private sectors; topics covered
  include state, city, and county government, economic development
  and tourism, education, and health care; and
         WHEREAS, Through its efforts to build a more informed and
  involved citizenry and to develop new leaders, Leadership Boerne is
  helping to create a brighter and more promising future for the Lone
  Star State; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Leadership Boerne for its promotion of
  civic leadership and volunteerism and extend to its participants
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
