R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Canton Autumn Stroll Barbecue Cook-off is taking |
|
|
place October 7 and 8, 2011, in Canton; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This popular annual event is held in conjunction |
|
|
with the community's Autumn Stroll festivities and is sponsored by |
|
|
the City of Canton Main Street Program, which promotes historic |
|
|
preservation and economic development in the downtown area; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Lonestar Barbecue Society, the |
|
|
cook-off features talented chefs facing off against one another to |
|
|
produce the tastiest entries in categories such as brisket, pork |
|
|
spare ribs, chicken, beans, and salsa; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Canton Autumn Stroll Barbecue Cook-off offers |
|
|
spirited competition and some first-rate Texas-style cuisine while |
|
|
benefiting a worthwhile community initiative, and attendees are |
|
|
sure to enjoy a good time and good company at this fun and friendly |
|
|
get-together; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the Canton Autumn Stroll Barbecue Cook-off |
|
|
and extend sincere best wishes to all associated with the event; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the cook-off organizers as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
