R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
  the death of U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Christopher Shawn Baltazar,
  Jr., of San Antonio, who lost his life while serving his country in
  Afghanistan on September 3, 2009, at the age of 19; and
         WHEREAS, A native of New York state, Christopher Baltazar was
  born on September 23, 1989; he relocated to the Alamo City in the
  sixth grade and attended Judson High School, where he was a valued
  member of the JROTC; following in the footsteps of his mother, he
  joined the military after earning his diploma; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed young man delighted in making others
  smile; devoted to his Christian faith, he was an active member of
  Cornerstone Church; and
         WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have men and
  women whose love for their country inspires them to take up military
  service, yet the tragic death of this exemplary Marine is a sobering
  reminder of the cost of war; Lance Corporal Baltazar embodied the
  highest ideals of the U.S. armed forces, and those who knew and
  loved him will forever carry him close in their hearts; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Marine Lance
  Corporal Christopher Shawn Baltazar, Jr., and extend deepest
  sympathy to the members of his family: to his mother, U.S. Army
  Staff Sergeant Beatriz Alberts; to his brother and sister; to his
  stepbrothers; and to all those who mourn his passing; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
  Christopher Shawn Baltazar, Jr.
