R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Lue Jettie Sanders of San Antonio on August 22, 2010, at
  the age of 99; and
         WHEREAS, Born on September 25, 1910, to Stephon and Kizzie
  Walker, the former Lue Walker attended school in Sweet Home, near
  Seguin, and graduated from high school in La Vernia; some of her
  postsecondary education was acquired as a student at St. Philip's
  College; and
         WHEREAS, Lue Walker exchanged the vows of matrimony with the
  Reverend John Henry Sanders, Sr., on September 17, 1936; the couple
  shared 30 rewarding years of marriage, working side by side in the
  church and in their home, until his death in 1967; deeply committed
  to her faith, Mrs. Sanders was a congregant of Sweet Home Baptist
  Church in her youth and later joined Corinth Baptist Church in the
  Alamo City; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Sanders was the devoted mother of two children,
  Kizzie and John, and she relished her role as a grandmother and as
  an aunt; as a foster grandparent, this caring woman also benefited
  countless young patients at Christus Santa Rosa Children's
  Hospital; and
         WHEREAS, Lue Jettie Sanders enriched the lives of many during
  her time on this earth, and she will forever hold a special place in
  the hearts of those who knew and loved her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lue Jettie Sanders
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  children, Kizzie Mae Sanders and the Reverend John Henry Sanders,
  Jr.; to her sister, Tena Walker Sheeley; to her grandchildren,
  LaTricia Whitson and her husband, Dennis, Dominique Whitson, and
  Dyani Dotson; to her god-granddaughters, Kylah and Keiannah; to her
  nieces, Stella Lee Williams and Patricia Williams; to her longtime
  friend Sally Todd; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lue Jettie
  Sanders.
