R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may
  comfort those saddened by the passing of Susan M. Jones of Arlington
  on October 7, 2009, at the age of 53; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Houston, the former Susan Jordy was born
  on November 22, 1955, to Donald and Dorothy Jordy and grew up with
  the companionship of a brother, Donnie; and
         WHEREAS, She later married Bobby Jones, with whom she enjoyed
  a rewarding marriage, and she had the pleasure of seeing her family
  grow to include three children and a grandson; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Jones taught at a number of schools in the
  Arlington Independent School District, including Carter Junior
  High and Starrett Elementary, before spending the last seven years
  of her career teaching seventh-grade English at Barnett Junior
  High, where her husband was also a faculty member; over the course
  of three decades in the classroom, this remarkable woman ensured
  that her students mastered the skills and knowledge they needed to
  succeed; she volunteered her time to tutor young people on her lunch
  break and after school and rewarded academic progress with praise
  as well as cupcakes and other homemade treats; and
         WHEREAS, Though her time on this earth ended much too soon,
  Susan Jones inspired countless people with her dedication and her
  heartfelt concern for others, and memories of the happy times spent
  in her company will forever be held dear by all who had the good
  fortune to know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Susan M. Jones and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  husband, Bobby Jones; to her daughter, Rachel Benedict; to her son,
  Trey Benedict; to her stepdaughter, Amanda Jones; to her grandson,
  Houston Carr; to her mother, Dorothy Holtman; to her father, Donald
  Jordy; to her brother, Donnie Jordy, and his wife, Cindy; to her
  parents-in-law, Bob and Helen Jones; to her nephews, Matthew and
  Garrett Simpson; to her aunts and uncles, Diana and Ronald
  Ellermann and Frank and Peggy Hoot; and to her other relatives and
  many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Susan
  Jones.
