R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Residents of the Town of Pantego lost an admired
  civic leader with the death of Mayor Dorothy Gail Aderholt on August
  14, 2009; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Robert and Walene Jennings, the
  former Dorothy Gail Jennings was born in Denton; she graduated from
  Texas Wesleyan College with a degree in fine arts and went on to
  join her husband, Cotton Aderholt, in running a successful family
  business, Quality Mobile Homes; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Aderholt demonstrated a deep commitment to her
  community for more than a quarter-century; she served as president
  of the Pantego Economic Development Corporation and the Lions Club
  and was a member of the town's crime watch and parks and recreation
  boards; in 1994, she was named Pantego's Volunteer of the Year; she
  also served as president of the Arlington Arts League and as a
  member of the Arlington Mayor's Council for Youth and the 2010 Super
  Bowl Committee; after beginning the first of three terms as mayor in
  2005, she continued to remain active on boards and commissions; and
         WHEREAS, Highly engaged in the political process, Ms.
  Aderholt served on the Tarrant County Republican Party Executive
  Committee, was a precinct chair, and took on leadership roles in a
  number of local election campaigns; moreover, she advocated for
  many worthwhile causes, including the local arts community and
  animal rights, and she served on the board of the Humane Society of
  North Texas, holding the office of treasurer; and
         WHEREAS, This energetic Texan earned a second-degree black
  belt in tae kwon do and became a martial arts instructor; in
  addition, she enjoyed international travel; and
         WHEREAS, Dorothy Aderholt touched countless lives through
  her devotion to the betterment of her community, and she will long
  be remembered with great admiration and affection; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of the Honorable Dorothy
  Gail Aderholt and extend sincere condolences to the members of her
  family: to her husband, Cotton Aderholt; to her sisters, Sandra
  Morrison, Debbie Burnham, and Pam Campbell; to her brother, Robert
  S. Jennings; to her nieces, Belinda Graham, Cassy Burnham, Sabrah
  Burnham, Amy Campbell, Stacy Jennings, and Bobbie Ray Jennings; to
  her nephews, Bruce Campbell and Robby Jennings; and to her other
  relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas House
  of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dorothy
  Gail Aderholt.
