R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
death of Wanda Faye Hart of Arlington on August 24, 2009, at the age |
|
of 84; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Waurika, Oklahoma, on May 6, 1925, Mrs. Hart |
|
grew up in Lawton, Oklahoma; she moved to Texas as the young mother |
|
of two cherished children, Blake and Faye, and settled in |
|
Arlington; while supporting her family, she attended business |
|
school and went on to pursue a career in administrative positions |
|
with such employers as Lockheed Martin and The University of Texas |
|
at Arlington, and in the finance industry as well; her sense of duty |
|
and strong work ethic set a sterling example for others; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Hart was devoted to her family and relished her |
|
role as "NaNa" and "Mamo" to five grandchildren; when they were |
|
small, she enthusiastically served as babysitter, and as they grew |
|
up, she faithfully attended their ballgames, plays, and birthday |
|
parties; she delighted in seeking out the perfect gift for any |
|
occasion and carefully selected the ideal greeting card, which she |
|
made even more special with a lovely handwritten note; and |
|
WHEREAS, Fond of music, Mrs. Hart enjoyed ballroom dancing as |
|
a young woman and had a great appreciation for the artists George |
|
Strait and Daniel O'Donnell, as well as the television program |
|
American Idol; her early interests included writing poetry and
|
|
interior decorating, and she became a Dallas Cowboys supporter, to |
|
the consternation of her sisters; when the siblings had a bet at |
|
stake, she took particular glee in cheering for her team and against |
|
its hapless rival; in later years, she became an ace at solving |
|
puzzles, whether jigsaws or word jumbles, and she presented her |
|
relatives with many framed puzzles that had special meaning for the |
|
charmed recipient; and |
|
WHEREAS, Wanda Hart demonstrated a deep commitment to her |
|
family throughout her life, and although she is profoundly missed, |
|
her memory will long endure in the hearts of all those who were |
|
privileged to share in the richness of her love and affection; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Wanda Faye Hart and |
|
extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her son, |
|
Blake Kent Snow; to her daughter, Faye Snow Reeder; to her |
|
grandchildren, Rhonda and Brandon Aghamalian, Lajuan Perkins, |
|
Stacy Karrenbrock, and Summer Snow; to her great-grandchildren; and |
|
to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas House |
|
of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Wanda |
|
Faye Hart. |
