R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Barbara West of Keller passed away on November 3,
  2009, at the age of 70, leaving behind memories of a life well lived
  to be cherished by her family and friends; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Haynesville, Louisiana, on March 2, 1939,
  Mrs. West worked early in her career as a dental hygienist and as a
  staff member with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Fort Worth
  District and the European Division; she went on to become the
  proprietor of Barbara's Florist and Gifts, which she operated in
  North Richland Hills for a number of years; drawing on her abundant
  artistic talent, she created lovely arrangements that added beauty
  to many special occasions; in her leisure time, she was an avid
  traveler; and
         WHEREAS, This beloved woman was wed first to Richard Kurtz,
  with whom she shared a rewarding marriage until his passing in 1984;
  fortunate to find love a second time, she later exchanged vows with
  J. B. West, and the couple enjoyed many happy times with their
  children and grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Barbara West lived a caring and purposeful life, and
  she will long be remembered with great affection by all those who
  held her dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Barbara West and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  husband, J. B. West; to her children, Jeanette Golden and her
  husband, Gary, Terri Vester and her husband, Nick, John West and his
  wife, Suzanne, Kevin Kurtz and his wife, Georgia, and Stephen West
  and his wife, Pam; to her grandchildren, Robert and Zachery
  Montgomery, Cameron Vester, Kurt and Drew Golden, Rob Golden and
  his wife, Bethany, and J. B., Andrew, Margaret, and Katherine West;
  to her mother, Nora Mooty; to her sister, Gereldine Moore; and to
  her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Barbara
  West.
