R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Barbara West of Keller passed away on November 3, |
|
|
2009, at the age of 70, leaving behind memories of a life well lived |
|
|
to be cherished by her family and friends; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Haynesville, Louisiana, on March 2, 1939, |
|
|
Mrs. West worked early in her career as a dental hygienist and as a |
|
|
staff member with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Fort Worth |
|
|
District and the European Division; she went on to become the |
|
|
proprietor of Barbara's Florist and Gifts, which she operated in |
|
|
North Richland Hills for a number of years; drawing on her abundant |
|
|
artistic talent, she created lovely arrangements that added beauty |
|
|
to many special occasions; in her leisure time, she was an avid |
|
|
traveler; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This beloved woman was wed first to Richard Kurtz, |
|
|
with whom she shared a rewarding marriage until his passing in 1984; |
|
|
fortunate to find love a second time, she later exchanged vows with |
|
|
J. B. West, and the couple enjoyed many happy times with their |
|
|
children and grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Barbara West lived a caring and purposeful life, and |
|
|
she will long be remembered with great affection by all those who |
|
|
held her dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Barbara West and |
|
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
|
|
husband, J. B. West; to her children, Jeanette Golden and her |
|
|
husband, Gary, Terri Vester and her husband, Nick, John West and his |
|
|
wife, Suzanne, Kevin Kurtz and his wife, Georgia, and Stephen West |
|
|
and his wife, Pam; to her grandchildren, Robert and Zachery |
|
|
Montgomery, Cameron Vester, Kurt and Drew Golden, Rob Golden and |
|
|
his wife, Bethany, and J. B., Andrew, Margaret, and Katherine West; |
|
|
to her mother, Nora Mooty; to her sister, Gereldine Moore; and to |
|
|
her other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Barbara |
|
|
West. |
