R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Association of Texas Professional |
|
|
Educators are visiting the State Capitol on February 14, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, ATPE is owned and governed by a membership of more |
|
|
than 115,000 education professionals, making it the largest |
|
|
independent educators' association in the nation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the able guidance of more than 5,000 |
|
|
volunteers who serve as state, regional, and local unit leaders, |
|
|
ATPE provides participants with information and resources that help |
|
|
them in the classroom and other areas of their professional lives; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By coordinating efforts to address the serious |
|
|
issues that educators and children confront on a daily basis, |
|
|
members of ATPE have served as a unifying force in improving our |
|
|
schools, and their initiatives are making a positive difference in |
|
|
the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 14, 2011, as Association of |
|
|
Texas Professional Educators Day at the State Capitol and extend to |
|
|
all those in attendance sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and |
|
|
productive visit to Austin; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
