R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Emily Ashcraft of Honey Grove has won a coveted |
|
|
place in the Association of Texas Small School Bands 2011 All-State |
|
|
Band; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A gifted clarinetist, Ms. Ashcraft was awarded a |
|
|
scholarship from the ATSSB for being named to the All-State Band |
|
|
three of her four years in high school, and she became one of only |
|
|
four students in all of Texas 1A schools to receive this honor; in |
|
|
addition, she has earned Division I honors for her solo and quartet |
|
|
performances and been named a state qualifier in Music Theory |
|
|
Division II; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Monte and Robbie |
|
|
Ashcraft, Ms. Ashcraft is currently a senior at Honey Grove High |
|
|
School, where she has served as drum major of the marching band; |
|
|
after graduation, she plans to pursue a degree in music education; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Emily Ashcraft has demonstrated both admirable |
|
|
ability and discipline, and through her dedication to achieving her |
|
|
goals, she is preparing the foundation for a bright and rewarding |
|
|
future; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Emily Ashcraft on her selection for |
|
|
the All-State Band of the Association of Texas Small School Bands |
|
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Ashcraft as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
