R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Jesse and Rosa Garcia of Temple |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 21, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Jesse Garcia and the former Rosa Delgado were united |
|
|
in matrimony at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple in |
|
|
1961; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage |
|
|
that has been made even richer with the addition of their children, |
|
|
Frankie, Jesse, Debbie, Sunday, Joe, and Ruth, as well as 17 |
|
|
grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Temple, the couple moved to |
|
|
Southern California in the early 1960s and had the opportunity to |
|
|
work and travel in Northern California, Washington, Oregon, and |
|
|
Arizona; they returned to their hometown in 1974, where Mr. Garcia |
|
|
was employed by the City of Temple until his retirement; Mrs. Garcia |
|
|
has been a dedicated homemaker throughout their marriage; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
|
world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife |
|
|
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jesse and Rosa Garcia on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Garcia as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
