R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Richard MacDonald was named the 2010 Volunteer of |
|
|
the Year at the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Gala on |
|
|
February 4, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Long dedicated to improving the lives of his fellow |
|
|
residents, Mr. MacDonald was one of the founders of the Katy Home |
|
|
Savers Association, a nonprofit organization that helps repair the |
|
|
homes of senior citizens and disabled individuals; through the |
|
|
years, additions such as wheelchair ramps and new appliances have |
|
|
helped people remain in their homes and enjoy safer and more |
|
|
comfortable living quarters; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This respected local leader has also contributed to |
|
|
the Katy Cowgirls and area FFA students; in addition to supplying |
|
|
hay for the programs, he has provided projects, promoted and taken |
|
|
part in the livestock auction, and established scholarships for |
|
|
Katy Independent School District youth; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Richard MacDonald has made a positive and lasting |
|
|
difference in his community, and he may take justifiable pride in |
|
|
the recognition he has received from his peers; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Richard MacDonald on being named |
|
|
the 2010 Volunteer of the Year by the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce |
|
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and |
|
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. MacDonald as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
