R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at |
|
|
the untimely death of Makenzi Knickole Papasan of Leander, who |
|
|
passed away on January 30, 2011, at the age of 12; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Austin on July 8, 1998, Kenzi Papasan was a |
|
|
seventh-grade student at Wiley Middle School in Leander, where she |
|
|
was a valued member of the Silver Spur Dance Team and the band; she |
|
|
was a congregant of RockPointe Church and participated in the |
|
|
church's youth group and children's ministries; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Knickia Papasan and Tonya Wallace |
|
|
Papasan, Kenzi grew up with the companionship of two sisters, |
|
|
Morgan and Myranda; her bright smile and buoyant spirit endeared |
|
|
her not only to her family but to all who had the good fortune to |
|
|
know her; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although it is immeasurably painful to say good-bye |
|
|
to one so young and full of promise, those left behind may find |
|
|
comfort in knowing that their lives have been forever enriched by |
|
|
the joyful times they shared with this beloved child; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Makenzi Knickole |
|
|
Papasan and extend sincere condolences to the members of her |
|
|
family: to her parents, Knickia and Tonya Papasan; to her sisters, |
|
|
Morgan and Myranda Papasan; to her grandparents, Mackie and Lavelle |
|
|
Walters, Yvonne and Keith Lange, David Papasan and Bettie Barbieri, |
|
|
and Bill and Bonnie Hennig; to her great-grandmother, Doris |
|
|
Dickerson; to her aunts and uncles, Shana and Robert Dilldine, |
|
|
Robert and Kendra Walters, Michael Walters, and Callie Papasan; to |
|
|
her cousins, Shiean, Jaidyn, Sage, Ciera, D. J., Jenny, and Miley; |
|
|
and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kenzi |
|
|
Papasan. |
