R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, January 25, 2011, marked the 50th wedding |
|
|
anniversary of Judge Lester Crutchfield and Ireline Crutchfield of |
|
|
Abilene; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lester Crutchfield and the former Ireline Hicks were |
|
|
joined in matrimony in 1961; through the years, they have been |
|
|
blessed with a treasured family that includes three children, Tacie |
|
|
Motz, Zanetta Roam, and Leslie McComb, as well as eight |
|
|
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Judge Crutchfield served 16 years as Lamar County |
|
|
judge, and among his achievements while in that position was the |
|
|
extension of water service to the outer reaches of the county; the |
|
|
Crutchfields raised emu for several years and then built, owned, |
|
|
and operated TigerTown 1 Stop, a convenience store that served as a |
|
|
hub for the local community; when some residents were without |
|
|
electricity for three weeks due to a winter storm, the couple opened |
|
|
their home and their business to assist their neighbors in need; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 50 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. |
|
|
Crutchfield have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of |
|
|
love and commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to |
|
|
all who know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Judge Lester Crutchfield and |
|
|
Ireline Crutchfield on their golden wedding anniversary and extend |
|
|
to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Judge and Mrs. Crutchfield as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
