R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Home Builders Association of Greater |
|
Dallas are gathering at the State Capitol on February 23, 2011; and |
|
WHEREAS, Chartered in 1944, the Home Builders Association of |
|
Greater Dallas is a nonprofit organization focused on uniting |
|
Dallas area builders and educating its members and area citizens on |
|
the issues faced by the industry; in addition, the association |
|
works to enhance the public image of the home building trade through |
|
training and the promotion of ethical and professional standards; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Builder members of the HBA of Greater Dallas |
|
specialize in single-family and multifamily unit construction, |
|
land development, remodeling, and rehabilitation, while associate |
|
members are companies and individuals who provide materials, |
|
products, financing, and services such as subcontracting to |
|
builders and developers; the association retains a professional |
|
staff to conduct community relations, governmental affairs, |
|
educational outreach, and other programs; moreover, the group gives |
|
back to its fellow citizens through HomeAid/Home Builders Care, a |
|
charitable enterprise that recently completed an expansion of The |
|
Family Place shelter in Dallas that serves victims of abuse; and |
|
WHEREAS, By joining forces to help strengthen their industry, |
|
the members of the Home Builders Association of Greater Dallas are |
|
contributing to economic prosperity in North Texas while also |
|
assisting worthwhile community causes, and their work is indeed |
|
deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 23, 2011, as Home Builders |
|
Association of Greater Dallas Day at the State Capitol and extend to |
|
the organization's members sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
