R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An official auxiliary of the Texas Republican Party, |
|
|
the Texas College Republicans is dedicated to encouraging |
|
|
participation in civic life and to developing leadership among |
|
|
young people pursuing higher education; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The organization, which boasts more than 30 chapters |
|
|
and some 2,500 members, offers college students across the Lone |
|
|
Star State unique opportunities to participate in the political |
|
|
process and to learn about the way government functions at the |
|
|
local, state, and national levels; in addition, TCR promotes |
|
|
awareness of contemporary issues and involvement in the community |
|
|
and works to contribute to the growth and influence of the |
|
|
Republican Party in Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Capitol provides a fitting location for |
|
|
such special events as the annual state convention sponsored by the |
|
|
group; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, in accordance with the rules and policies of the |
|
|
Committee on House Administration, hereby grant permission to the |
|
|
Texas College Republicans to use the house chamber on March 24, |
|
|
2012, provided that the house is not in session. |
