R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Audrey Jones of Alamo is serving as the |
|
|
Physician of the Day at the State Capitol on February 23, 2011, and |
|
|
she is to be commended for her participation in this time-honored |
|
|
tradition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since 1971, this program has provided for a |
|
|
volunteer physician to be on call each day of a legislative session |
|
|
to offer medical assistance to legislators and support staff; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Jones is certified by the American Board of |
|
|
Family Practice and the American Board of Forensic Examiners; she |
|
|
earned her degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at |
|
|
the University of North Texas Health Science Center; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Despite her demanding schedule, Dr. Jones has given |
|
|
back to her community by serving as president of the Boys and Girls |
|
|
Club of Alamo--San Juan, and she is a member of the board of |
|
|
trustees of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Jones has built an admirable career by devoting |
|
|
herself to the health and well-being of others, and it is a pleasure |
|
|
to honor her and to gratefully welcome her to the State Capitol; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize Dr. Audrey Jones for her contributions |
|
|
to the medical profession and commend her for her generous service |
|
|
to the Texas Legislature as Physician of the Day; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. Jones as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
