R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Jon Stephens has been named the 2011 Lubbock Area
  United Way Campaign Volunteer of the Year; and
         WHEREAS, With his selection for this honor, Mr. Stephens was
  recognized for his work with the Loaned Executive Division, which
  raised more than $2.9 million for the annual campaign; in that
  program, individuals recruited from corporations and small
  businesses assisted the United Way by helping other businesses
  participate in the organization's employee campaigns; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Stephens is a Lubbock native who graduated from
  Texas Tech University in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in political
  science; he has worked in the banking industry since 2001 and
  currently serves as a senior vice president at SouthWest Bank; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Stephens participates in a number of additional
  organizations that also benefit his fellow citizens; he has
  volunteered his time with the National Kidney Foundation of West
  Texas, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Lubbock Chamber
  of Commerce, the South Plains chapter of the American Red Cross, the
  Texas FFA Association, and the March of Dimes; in all of his
  endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Michelle, and
  their children, Palmer and Graham; and
         WHEREAS, Texans such as Jon Stephens who take an active role
  in the betterment of their communities are to be celebrated for the
  contributions they make to the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jon Stephens on his selection as
  the 2011 Lubbock Area United Way Campaign Volunteer of the Year and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Stephens as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
