R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Eddie and Gladys Dantzler of Holland, |
|
|
Texas, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on January 26, |
|
|
2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Eddie Dantzler and the former Gladys Persky were |
|
|
united in matrimony in Brooklyn, New York, in 1941; through the |
|
|
years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made |
|
|
even richer with the addition of two children, Pat and David |
|
|
Dantzler, as well as five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, |
|
|
and five great-great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Dantzler are longtime residents of |
|
|
Holland; after serving his nation in the U.S. Marine Corps, Mr. |
|
|
Dantzler worked for Halliburton until his retirement in 1985; Mrs. |
|
|
Dantzler has been a dedicated homemaker throughout their marriage; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
|
seven decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Eddie and Gladys Dantzler on their |
|
|
70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Dantzler as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
