R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Proud residents of Tarrant County and members of the
  Coalition of Tarrant County Chambers of Commerce are gathering in
  Austin on March 3, 2011, to celebrate Tarrant County Day at the
  State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Named in honor of General Edward H. Tarrant, Tarrant
  County was founded in 1849; it has grown to become the third most
  populous county in Texas, and is an important national and
  international transportation hub; and
         WHEREAS, Countless vacationers are drawn to Tarrant County
  each year; it offers such acclaimed cultural institutions as the
  Kimbell Art Museum, the Amon G. Carter Museum, the Modern Art Museum
  of Fort Worth, and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History,
  which opened a splendid new facility in late 2009; in addition, the
  county's wide range of tourist attractions includes the National
  Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, the Fort Worth Stockyards, and Six
  Flags Over Texas; and
         WHEREAS, One of the nation's premier sports markets, Tarrant
  County thrills fans with two Arlington-based major-league teams,
  the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys; the Rangers won the 2010
  American League championship and played in their first World
  Series, while the Cowboys hosted Super Bowl XLV at the new $1.15
  billion Cowboys Stadium; moreover, the Texas Christian University
  Horned Frogs have developed one of the country's premier college
  football programs and recently concluded their second consecutive
  undefeated season by winning the Rose Bowl; and
         WHEREAS, This vibrant county is home to the global
  headquarters of such major corporations as American Airlines,
  Burlington Northern Santa Fe, Pier 1 Imports, and RadioShack; more
  than 10,000 business organizations and two dozen chambers of
  commerce are represented by the Coalition of Tarrant County
  Chambers of Commerce, which promotes economic development and works
  to build productive partnerships between the business community and
  local, state, and federal governments to facilitate positive
  business and workforce growth; and
         WHEREAS, Combining a vigorous business climate with a high
  quality of life, Tarrant County continues to draw new companies and
  new residents, and its citizens and area chambers of commerce can
  indeed take pride in the dynamism of their communities; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize March 3, 2011, as Tarrant County Day
  at the State Capitol and extend to all those visiting from Tarrant
  County best wishes for a memorable and productive day.
