R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Stephanie Garza of Dallas has been named a recipient
  of a Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship for Legislative
  District 111; and
         WHEREAS, A stellar student at Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's
  Leadership School, Ms. Garza is pursuing a demanding college
  preparatory program and has taken numerous Advanced Placement
  courses; she is a member of the National Honor Society and produces
  outstanding work in every subject, while particularly excelling in
  English, Spanish, and history; to the delight of her teachers, she
  displays rare scholarship and intellectual curiosity through
  extensive independent reading; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Garza is known for her diplomacy, compassion,
  and collaborative spirit, all of which have greatly benefited her
  schoolmates; she is a member of the school's League of United Latin
  American Citizens chapter, and she assists and mentors her fellow
  students as a member of the Peer Assistance and Leadership class; in
  addition, she has participated in mock trial and GEO Club,
  volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, and has served at homeless
  shelters; she is also dedicated to helping her parents and three
  younger siblings at home; and
         WHEREAS, Stephanie Garza exhibits remarkable maturity,
  determination, and scholastic ability, and these traits are helping
  her build a strong foundation for a successful and fulfilling
  future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Stephanie Garza on her receipt of a
  Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship and extend to her best
  wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Garza as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
