R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Dallas Regional Chamber and its Young |
|
|
Professionals program are visiting the State Capitol on March 1, |
|
|
2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1909, the chamber pursues the goal of |
|
|
promoting the growth and prosperity of the Metroplex through a |
|
|
variety of economic and community development programs; with a |
|
|
membership of approximately 2,500 businesses representing nearly |
|
|
600,000 employees, the organization is ably guided by president and |
|
|
CEO James C. Oberwetter, 2011 chair Mike Baggett, 2012 chair elect |
|
|
Clint McDonnough, and immediate past president and CEO David |
|
|
Corrigan; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, One of the group's many worthwhile initiatives is |
|
|
Young Professionals, which works to equip its more than 350 members |
|
|
with tools necessary to succeed personally and professionally; |
|
|
classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a diverse |
|
|
membership with personal leadership training, networking |
|
|
opportunities, and instruction from knowledgeable figures from |
|
|
both the public and private sectors; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The efforts of the Dallas Regional Chamber and its |
|
|
Young Professionals program are contributing to the robust business |
|
|
environment in North Texas and helping to make the area an even |
|
|
better place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby welcome the visiting members of the Dallas |
|
|
Regional Chamber and the Young Professionals program to the State |
|
|
Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
