R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Charles Ganze retired from the Gulf Coast Waste |
|
Disposal Authority in January 2011, drawing to a close an |
|
outstanding career that has spanned more than four decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, The recipient of bachelor's and master's degrees |
|
from East Texas State University, Mr. Ganze began his career as an |
|
educator and taught briefly in the late 1960s, first for the Andrews |
|
Independent School District and then for the La Marque Independent |
|
School District; from 1968 to 1973, he worked for Union Carbide and |
|
helped to design and build the Gulf Coast Waste Disposal Authority |
|
(GCA) 40-acre Texas City facility; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 1973, Mr. Ganze joined that operation as manager |
|
of the facility; during the course of his remarkable 38-year tenure |
|
with the authority, he served for many years as the manager of |
|
industrial operations, and in 2001, he was promoted to serve as |
|
GCA's general manager; in each of these posts, he earned the respect |
|
and admiration of his peers; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to excelling in his professional |
|
responsibilities, this accomplished gentleman has distinguished |
|
himself on the board of the Texas Water Conservation Association; |
|
throughout his career, he has enjoyed the love and support of his |
|
wife, Ruth, and today their loving family includes two children and |
|
three grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Charles Ganze's dedication and commitment to |
|
excellence have greatly benefited the citizens of the Gulf Coast |
|
region, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent |
|
as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Charles Ganze on his retirement |
|
from the Gulf Coast Waste Disposal Authority and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Ganze as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
