R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Reverend L. S. Wilson of Fort Worth turned 75
  years old on March 2, 2011, and this significant milestone is truly
  deserving of special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, A native Texan who was born in 1936 on Texas
  Independence Day, L. S. Wilson graduated from I. M. Terrell High
  School in Fort Worth; he continued his education at Bishop College
  and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Dallas Baptist
  University and a master's degree in administration from Texas A&M
  University--Commerce and enjoyed a notable career as an educator
  before retiring as assistant principal of Justin Ford Kimball High
  School in Dallas; and
         WHEREAS, Reverend Wilson answered the call to the ministry in
  1971; he served the congregations of Greater Elam Grove Baptist
  Church in Mabank from 1973 to 1979 and Bethlehem Baptist Church in
  Bonham from 1979 to 1998, the year in which he assumed the pulpit of
  East St. Paul Baptist Church in Fort Worth; under his leadership,
  the members of East St. Paul have dedicated a new sanctuary and
  converted their previous sanctuary into an educational facility;
  and
         WHEREAS, This dedicated clergyman currently serves his
  colleagues as president of the Baptist Ministers Union of Fort
  Worth and Vicinity, as an executive director of the Baptist General
  Convention of Texas, and as a member of the convention's Baptist
  Distinctives Committee; he sits on the Finance Committee of the
  Tarrant Baptist Association and is active in programs of the
  American Association of Christian Counselors; and
         WHEREAS, Reverend Wilson enjoys the love and support of his
  wife, the former Betty Elliot, who serves at his side and
  participates in myriad church endeavors; together the couple enjoy
  spending time with their family, which includes five children and
  nine grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, The Reverend L. S. Wilson is a source of wisdom and
  inspiration to all who are privileged to know him, and it is a
  pleasure to honor him for 75 years of life well lived; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Reverend L. S. Wilson on his
  75th birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Reverend Wilson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
