R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Jackie Hall of Plano retired as executive director |
|
of the Assistance Center of Collin County on August 31, 2010, after |
|
more than 26 years of service, and it is indeed fitting to reflect |
|
on her many contributions to the organization and the communities |
|
it serves; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Assistance Center was established in 1977 to |
|
connect residents of Collin County to appropriate human services |
|
resources; its mission expanded over time, and Ms. Hall was at the |
|
forefront of its transition from a referral agency to a |
|
comprehensive social services center; and |
|
WHEREAS, While helping to improve the lives of countless |
|
individuals, Ms. Hall propelled ACCC into a leadership position in |
|
the Metroplex; among her accomplishments are the development and |
|
publication of Collin County Cares, a directory of social services |
|
available in the area that is used by agencies, corporations, |
|
medical facilities, and governments to provide referrals; |
|
moreover, she oversaw the center's role in providing screening and |
|
administrative assistance for such programs as Annual School |
|
Supplies for Plano ISD, the Shoe Ministry, and Plano Santas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Plano mayor Phil Dyer proclaimed August 27, 2010, as |
|
Jackie Hall Day in honor of her initiative and skill in handling a |
|
range of crisis situations for residents throughout the county; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jackie Hall distinguished herself with her passion, |
|
hard work, and commitment to serving the greater good, and her |
|
outstanding efforts will continue to have a positive effect in the |
|
community for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jackie Hall on her retirement from |
|
the Assistance Center of Collin County and extend to her sincere |
|
best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Hall as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
