R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The annual Fort Bend County Fair is taking place
  from September 23 to October 2, 2011, and the 75th anniversary of
  this popular event provides an opportune time to honor all those who
  have contributed to the fair's success through the years, including
  a number of individuals who are present with us on this day; and
         WHEREAS, The Fort Bend County Fair was first held in 1933 in
  Rosenberg and, except during World War II, has been a yearly
  highlight of the county's cultural calendar ever since; through the
  decades, the fair has grown into one of the largest in the state,
  and residents of the county and many other communities eagerly
  anticipate the sights and activities it offers each fall; and
         WHEREAS, Committed to "benefiting youth, promoting
  agriculture, and supporting education," the fair has awarded more
  than 500 scholarships to deserving young people and contributes
  hundreds of thousands of dollars annually to students and student
  programs; with this noble goal in mind, volunteers, committee
  members, and the Fort Bend County Fair Association board of
  directors perform countless hours of hard work in the months
  leading up to and during the event; and
         WHEREAS, Showcasing some of Texas' finest agricultural
  products and providing entertainment, education, and recreational
  opportunities, the Fort Bend County Fair is a treasured and
  enduring institution, and it is indeed a pleasure to recognize the
  fair's organizers for their efforts in behalf of the community;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 75th annual Fort Bend County
  Fair and extend to all those associated with the fair sincere best
  wishes for a memorable event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Fort Bend County Fair Association as an expression
  of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
