R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Bert and Susy Cogdill of Georgetown |
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 16, 2011; and |
|
WHEREAS, Eighteen months after meeting at Kansas State |
|
University, Mr. and Mrs. Cogdill were united in matrimony in |
|
Pensacola, Florida, in 1961; through the years, they have nurtured |
|
a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|
addition of their son and daughter, six granddaughters, and a |
|
grandson; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Cogdill served an eight-year tour of duty in the |
|
U.S. Navy, after which he became a special agent with the Naval |
|
Investigative Service; over the course of his career with NIS, the |
|
family resided in eight states, as well as the Philippines and Cuba; |
|
Mrs. Cogdill has been a dedicated homemaker throughout the couple's |
|
marriage; and |
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bert and Susy Cogdill on their |
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cogdill as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
