R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to |
|
a close when Laudys Pittard of Novice passed away on December 26, |
|
2009, at the age of 86; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on October 6, 1923, in Oplin to A. H. "Pete" |
|
Armor and Fannye Virtle Looney, the former Laudys Armor married |
|
Colonel Harold Pittard on January 25, 1951, at the Novice Methodist |
|
Church; the couple raised three sons, Mark, Bruce, and Paul, and |
|
enjoyed a loving and fulfilling marriage until Mr. Pittard's death |
|
in 1987; and |
|
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to her community, Mrs. Pittard served |
|
on the board of directors for the Coleman County Electric |
|
Cooperative for nearly 22 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan was also a great friend to the |
|
Novice Independent School District and supported the staff and |
|
students in a variety of ways; an enthusiastic booster of the |
|
district's sports teams, she enjoyed attending their games whenever |
|
possible; and |
|
WHEREAS, While the death of Laudys Pittard has brought great |
|
sorrow to her family and friends, she will forever hold a treasured |
|
place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Laudys Pittard and |
|
extend sincere condolences to her sons, Mark and Bruce Pittard, and |
|
to her many other loved ones; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Laudys |
|
Pittard. |
