R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A strong democracy depends on a citizenry engaged |
|
|
with the issues of the day and committed to participation in the |
|
|
political process; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its establishment in 1980, the Lake Highlands |
|
|
Republican Women's Club of Dallas has worked to advance the issues |
|
|
of its party and to ensure the election of its candidates to local |
|
|
and statewide office; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The efforts of its members have helped to increase |
|
|
the political awareness and effectiveness of hundreds of women by |
|
|
persuading them that their participation in public affairs is |
|
|
vital; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Lake Highlands Republican Women's |
|
|
Club are making a difference in their community, state, and nation, |
|
|
and they may reflect with pride on their rich history of civic |
|
|
engagement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the Lake Highlands Republican Women's Club |
|
|
for its many accomplishments and extend to its members sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
