R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends have been profoundly saddened by
  the tragic death of Skylar Brooke Carpenter of Quitman on February
  17, 2011, at the age of 15; and
         WHEREAS, Born to David and Becky Carpenter in Mount Pleasant
  on July 6, 1995, Skylar Carpenter was a sophomore at Quitman High
  School, where she served as a class officer; she was active in the
  Quitman Anchor Club, the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of
  America, and the FFA; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Carpenter also enjoyed fellowship at the First
  Baptist Church of Quitman and sang in the church's youth choir; she
  was known for her beaming smile, kind heart, and devotion to her
  faith; and
         WHEREAS, Although her journey on this earth ended far too
  soon, Skylar Carpenter will always be remembered with great
  affection by all who were fortunate enough to share in her love and
  friendship; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Skylar Brooke
  Carpenter and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
  to her parents, David and Becky Carpenter; to her sister, Shelbi
  Carpenter; to her aunts and uncle, Tammy Daniel, Brenda Boyer, and
  Roger and Melissa Thornton; and to her other relatives and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Skylar
  Carpenter.
