R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Monica Marie Villarreal of |
|
Corpus Christi were deeply saddened by her tragic passing on |
|
November 28, 1997, at the age of 18, and every year on the |
|
anniversary of her birth, her loved ones come together to remember |
|
the myriad ways in which she enriched their lives; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Dr. J. A. "Tony" Villarreal and |
|
Yolanda Villarreal, Monica Villarreal was born on February 28, |
|
1979, in Reno, Nevada; she was a natural caregiver to her two |
|
younger sisters, Denise and Amanda, enjoyed the love of her |
|
maternal and paternal grandparents, and was also very close to her |
|
aunts and uncles and her godmother; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Villarreal lived for a time in Germany with her |
|
family, as well as in Texas; as a teenager she showed a sense of |
|
empathy beyond her years, and those who were closest to her recall |
|
her sweetness and her willingness to overlook the mistakes of |
|
others; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Monica Villarreal's journey on this earth |
|
was far too brief, she will be forever remembered with great |
|
affection by all those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor the life and pay tribute to the memory of a |
|
beloved Texan, Monica Marie Villarreal; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in remembrance of |
|
Monica Villarreal. |
