R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Participants of Leadership Friendswood are visiting |
|
|
the State Capitol on March 24, 2011, to gain further insight into |
|
|
the workings of state government; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Friendswood Chamber of Commerce, |
|
|
this exceptional program was established in 2001 in an effort to |
|
|
provide opportunities for residents to increase their knowledge |
|
|
about vital public issues; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide |
|
|
information on the local economy and industry, city and county |
|
|
government, education, health care, and utilities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the current class include Melissa |
|
|
Davenport, Marissa Stidham, Shirley Lange, Chris J. Brown, Rene |
|
|
Ibarra, Eileen Scanks, Tammy Guidry, Chris Salinas, Pauletta Jeter, |
|
|
Mike Marcantel, and Beth Stanfield; this year's coordinators are |
|
|
Steve Anderson, Carol Marcantel, and Lucy Woltz; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through its efforts to build a more informed and |
|
|
involved citizenry and to develop new leaders, Leadership |
|
|
Friendswood is helping to create a brighter and more promising |
|
|
future for the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby welcome members of Leadership Friendswood to the |
|
|
State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for an |
|
|
informative and memorable trip to Austin; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
