R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, February 10, 2011, marked the 50th wedding |
|
anniversary of Ray and Joan Anderson of Crawford, providing a |
|
fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together |
|
as husband and wife; and |
|
WHEREAS, High school sweethearts Ray Anderson and the former |
|
Joan Culp were joined in matrimony in 1961 at a ceremony held at |
|
First Baptist Church in McGregor; through the years, they have been |
|
blessed with a treasured family that includes their daughter, Angie |
|
Slaughter, and her husband, Jeff, as well as two grandsons, Travis |
|
and Tye; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson retired in 1997 from Texas Power and |
|
Light after 28 years as a lineman and dispatcher; Mrs. Anderson |
|
retired in 2005 as manager of Rocket Federal Credit Union; active |
|
members of College Avenue Baptist Church in McGregor, they also |
|
delight in attending the activities of their two grandsons; and |
|
WHEREAS, The 50 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Anderson |
|
have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ray and Joan Anderson on their |
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Anderson as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
