R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
  mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Ervin and Mary Kaddatz
  of West celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on
  October 15, 2010; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Kaddatz were joined in matrimony in
  1940 at a ceremony held in Malone; they are the parents of four
  children, Rebecca Kolar, Cathy Ewing, Charles Kaddatz, and the late
  Carla Urbanovsky; through the passing years, the couple have shared
  in the joy of welcoming into their family eight grandchildren,
  Nikki Hall, Julie Kirkpatrick, Jody Urbanovsky, Lindsay Tomlinson,
  Ryan and Aaron Kolar, and Makenzi and Adam Ewing, and five
  great-grandchildren, Cory and Austin Hall and Jace, Gage, and Koby
  Kirkpatrick; and
         WHEREAS, During World War II, Mr. Kaddatz served his country
  as a U.S. Army medic in the South Pacific and the Philippine
  Islands; on his return from the war, he worked as a farmer and as a
  carpenter, and he was involved in the construction and maintenance
  of numerous buildings and residences in Hill and McLennan Counties;
  moreover, as one of the first underwater welders of the time, he was
  instrumental in the development of the Whitney Dam; Mrs. Kaddatz
  has been a dedicated homemaker throughout their marriage, while
  also serving as a bookkeeper for several businesses and as
  secretary for the church in Waco that she and her family attended;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Kaddatz have enjoyed seven decades of
  abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ervin and Mary Kaddatz on their
  70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Kaddatz as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
