H.R. No. 915
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Young people who devote themselves to the pursuit of
  academic excellence are deserving of every Texan's respect and
  admiration, and Vesta Grubb of Baytown is indeed one such
  individual; and
         WHEREAS, A student at Lee College, Ms. Grubb has completed 33
  honors course hours, an institutional record, and earned an
  associate's degree in liberal arts and English; during her studies
  at the institution, she has been invited to present papers at the
  Gulf Coast Intercollegiate Honors Council Conference, the National
  Undergraduate Literature Conference, the National Conference on
  Undergraduate Research, and the Great Plains Honors Council
  Conference; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Grubb has been awarded several scholarships and
  been inducted into the Lee College Hall of Fame, the highest honor
  bestowed by the faculty; she was also recognized at the
  Presidential Honors Day ceremony as the most outstanding student;
  and
         WHEREAS, Following her graduation with an associate's degree
  in humanities in May 2011, this remarkable young woman plans to
  attend the prestigious University of Houston Honors College; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Grubb's achievements are all the more impressive
  in that she has had to overcome the challenges presented by frequent
  moves and financial instability throughout her life, but with the
  love and support of her mother, she has persevered and may indeed
  look to the future with anticipation and optimism as she enters an
  exciting new chapter in her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Vesta Grubb on her outstanding
  accomplishments as a student at Lee College and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success in all of her endeavors;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Grubb as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
