R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Robert M. Terrill is retiring as constable for
  Precinct 4 of Kerr County on March 31, 2011, drawing to a close a
  notable career in public service that has spanned nearly a quarter
  of a century; and
         WHEREAS, In 1977, after serving his nation at home and
  overseas as a member of the U.S. Army for 20 years, Bob Terrill
  became a peace officer; he worked for Texas A&M University at
  Galveston and for the cities of Montgomery and Taylor Lake Village
  before being appointed to complete an unexpired term as Kerr County
  constable in 1991; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Terrill went on to serve as deputy constable
  from 1993 to 2001, when he won election as constable; along the way,
  he earned the respect and admiration of his constituents, who twice
  reelected him to the post; and
         WHEREAS, A skilled outdoorsman, Mr. Terrill has hunted and
  fished on three continents and is a talented hunting guide; he
  enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Gertrude, for 48 years,
  until her passing in 2008; and
         WHEREAS, Bob Terrill's dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to public safety have greatly benefited the citizens of
  Kerr County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well
  spent as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Robert M. Terrill on his retirement
  from Kerr County and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Terrill as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
