R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Rufus and Betty Ruth Hurley of Temple |
|
|
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 25, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, "Bud" Hurley and the former Betty Ruth Higdon were |
|
|
united in matrimony in Monroe, Louisiana, in 1951; through the |
|
|
years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made |
|
|
even richer with the addition of their daughter, Renee Vanderpool, |
|
|
and two grandsons; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Hurley retired |
|
|
from Sun Oil Company after 35 years as an offshore helicopter pilot; |
|
|
Mrs. Hurley was employed by Sears for more than two decades; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
|
world during the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife |
|
|
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Rufus and Betty Ruth Hurley on |
|
|
their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hurley as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
