R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Elizabeth Lester has been named the 2010 Student
  Ambassador of the Year by People to People Ambassador Programs; and
         WHEREAS, An eighth grader at Forestwood Middle School in
  Flower Mound, Miss Lester was awarded the honor for her leadership
  ability and community service as well as for a powerful essay she
  wrote based on her experience as a Student Ambassador in the
  European Discovery program; for her achievement, she has earned
  full tuition and airfare toward the 2011 travel experience of her
  choice; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower,
  People to People Ambassador Programs was created to promote peace
  and understanding among citizens around the world; through the
  decades, this exceptional initiative has worked to bridge cultural
  and political borders through education and exchange among young
  Americans and their counterparts in other nations; and
         WHEREAS, The insights and experience that Miss Lester has
  gained through her travel with People to People Student Ambassador
  Programs will help her immeasurably throughout her life, and she is
  truly deserving of special recognition for her achievements; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Elizabeth Lester on being named the
  2010 Student Ambassador of the Year by People to People Ambassador
  Programs and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Miss Lester as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
